Super Special Recovery Pudding

The reason why this recovery pudding is super special is because it has a few somewhat unexpected ingredients, although one of them is totally optional... It is really simple and takes about 5 minutes to make. Thank you Laura for the inspiration! It is meant to be a quick, easy, effective and delicious post training snack, but I guess it can be an any-time-snack too... I will aim to post the nutrition information in next few days. Let me know what you think once you try it!

Super Special Recovery Pudding


  • 1 Avocado, ripe
  • 1 Banana, ripe (or mango)
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup raw cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop protein powder (~20g, I use whey isolate)
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
  • 1tsp chopped pecans
  • 1 slice bacon (optional)


  1. Cook bacon until crisp, drain and crumble. Set aside
  2. Cut the avocado in half, discard the pit and scoop into a food processor or blender
  3. Chop banana and add to the avocado in the food processor
  4. Pulse until the avocado and banana are mixed
  5. Add cocoa powder, almond milk, protein powder and coconut sugar
  6. Mix/blend until everything is incorporated and texture is creamy
  7. Scoop into a bowl, top with pecans and crumbled bacon

Vegans - pick a different protein powder and skip the bacon...
